Reports to: Sr. Philanthropic Planner
Position Summary:

The Philanthropic Services Associate is a full-time position responsible for providing assistance to the senior staff of The Denver Foundation’s Philanthropic Services Group in their efforts to raise and steward funds for The Denver Foundation’s programs and work.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
 Provide event planning and management support for PSG, ranging from small gatherings hosted onsite to events held at local venues
 Provide database support for PSG, including data clean up and maintenance, documentation, and training
 Manage, organize, and track weekly donor mailings. Maintain a system that ensures high quality customer service
 Provide administrative assistance to the PSG Team and senior staff, including help with correspondence, filing, and scheduling meetings
 Coordinate gift and prospect tracking process, including management of Raiser’s Edge reports and bi-weekly Board acknowledgements for gifts
 Create and send out information to new donors about their funds
 Coordinate, help manage, and take minutes for the Philanthropic Services Group Committee
 Provide suggestions for possible improvements to reporting processes

Required Qualifications:
 Experience planning and coordinating events
 Highly adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced environment
 Administrative assistant experience in either a business or nonprofit organization
 Excellent customer service skills for both internal and external relationships
 Strong knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office Suite software and database management
 Effective verbal and written communications
 Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
 Demonstrated success as a team player and ability to manage projects independently
 Excellent time management skills

Preferred Qualifications:
 Experience with InDesign
 Prior non-profit experience
 Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge and Blackbaud database systems

 Hiring range: $40,000 -$45,000 (non-exempt)

Work Environment: The position is based in an office environment with a mix of private offices and cubicles. Travel throughout the metro Denver region is an occasional requirement of the job. The position will occasionally be asked to staff weekend and evening events.

Physical Demands:
 Daily communication via phone.
 Frequent extended hours in front of a computer screen with or without accommodations.
 Occasional carrying of objects up to 20 pounds.
 Occasional activities occurring outdoors.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
 Must be authorized to work in the United States.
 Valid Colorado driver’s license, insurance, and private vehicle.
 Must be able to provide at least three professional references.
